Stupid money, sad thinking how the boys of 66 had to sell their medals then the likes of Jordan Henderson will be paid 700k a week.

Re: Jordan Henderson
They are all bullshitters and play to tbt gallery

Idiots like Capitol Man and joyo believe this celebrity wokeism because they need leadership and are unable to think for themselves.

Henderson is no different to Linekar or Alex Scott or Joe Lycett - all happy to have a pop at the Qatar World Cup to get the applause but silent when they get paid to holiday in Dubai.

700k a week and I’d even sign for Spurs, I’d still throw in the odd own goal though

Re: Jordan Henderson
He has gone there simply for money and at 700k a week who can blame him.
Most footballers nowadays will support anything that helps their brand and wearing the rainbow armband and showing support for the the gay community helped build his brand. It wouldn't surprise me if he amongst others were part of a massive campaign in the next year to 18 months showing Saudi Arabia in its best light, promotional videos etc as they look to bid for a world cup. Anything to highlight themselves and the next cause that are going to help keep their faces in the limelight and put a few extra million in their pension pots.
Long gone are the days that footballers got paid simply for playing football.

Re: Jordan Henderson
No one can blame him for taking the money being thrown at him.
However, his 'principles' have been bought. If he truely believed what he preaches, he would tell them thanks but no thanks, he must be set up for life without the Saudi dosh anyway.
Money really does talk in the loudest voice.

He won't go short of a line, a drink or a doris there - all probably supplied to him by the same high ranking Saud.

Person associated with LFC is a hypocrite. Well there's a shock

Re: Jordan Henderson
ED - good shout, greed was probably the wrong word to use in this instance. If he'd gone to a major club for that type of money there wouldn't be such a reaction. It is, as you say, hypocrisy.

At least he's not yet done an Arnautovic said that he's going there to win trophies (at least I don't think he has).

Re: Jordan Henderson
Everyone has principles up to the point that it costs them money or up to the point where what is on offer is irresistible.
Don't know, or particularly rate, Henderson but I sure as shit don't blame him for taking the money.

I'm sure you're right, but Riyadh is actually quite nice. Hectic, but I liked it - lots of restaurants and bars (assuming you like tea/coffee!). I found more to like than in Dubai, but I suspect that Mrs Henderson and I might differ there!

Re: Jordan Henderson
Exactly. It's the absolute hypocrisy of the man and the do as I say, not as I do. He's hardly alone though in the world of sport or the media.

When did being gay become more important than putting money in your bank account?

Not the sort of place for WAGS!

Re: Jordan Henderson
Stop talking bollocks about 'greed', I 100% back anyone taking that sort of dough when offered.

However, the problem here is hypocritical cunts trying to tell everyone how they should think and what they should do, preaching to the world, and THEN going and taking the riches.

The footballers need to shut the fuck up pontificating to the plebs, and get on with their jobs, unless they stay atop the moral high horse they ride on.

lowlife 3:32 Fri Jul 28
Re: Jordan Henderson
Pure greed. Although hypocritical I kind of understand why players at the end of their career would chase the money (obscene money), but this that are in their mid twenties (Neves) are even bigger cunts imo.

Chuckling at Henderson fans who say that he's "just trying to set his family up for life".

He's doing what every past it player does. One last huge pay day. We're usually the knackers yard that provides this (Wright, Ljundberg, S Pearce, Suker etc) but how things have changed, its either the US or now Saudi.

Re: Jordan Henderson
I was intrigued by comments that Henderson had ruined his 'brand' by moving to Saudi by our ex iron Thomas

if anything the decision to move to Saudi has increased his brand. If he stayed in Europe there are hundreds of other football players athletes etc he would be competing with to land adverts or endorsement deals etc.

By moving early to Saudi he can establish himself out there for endorsement adverts etc and probably earn more money and opportunities.
